The parents of two young kids are facing charges Monday for leaving their children home alone in Yonkers.

Police responded to an alarm call Saturday at 50 Rockledge Road when they were greeted at the door by a 4-year-old boy. They then found a 2-year-old inside but they say the parents were nowhere to be found. Police say when the couple finally arrived home they told them they had to go out for medicine because one of their kids was sick. But police say that didn't explain the timeline of events.

The couple is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is due back in court Monday. Meantime, the kids are in the custody of an uncle.
