Local organizations are stepping up to help fire victims and families in need as an impending snowstorm approaches Westchester County.

The Yonkers Police Athletic League is assembling packages of essential items for families displaced by the recent School Street and Spruce Street fires. The care packages include hygiene products, pillows, blankets, diapers and other necessities.

PAL officials say donations have been collected throughout the week, with volunteers working to ensure affected families receive the supplies they need during this challenging time.

With severe weather expected, the Yonkers PAL is also coordinating with Yonkers Emergency Management to provide additional relief to residents who may be impacted by the storm.

Anyone in need of assistance can contact the Yonkers Police Athletic League at 914-377-7381.
