A Yonkers mother is suing the state for more school funding.
Gretchen Kim says she wants more for her two sons and the 27,000 other Yonkers public school students.
A lack of school supplies and technology, as well as overcrowded classrooms, are among the reasons she says she is suing New York state and its Board of Regents.
New York state education officials visiting Yonkers Thursday admitted that high-needs districts don't always get enough money.
While Kim, who is also an attorney, believes she is the only Yonkers parent to be part of this lawsuit, she is not on the crusade alone. About a dozen parents and school districts across the state are also fighting the same battle.
