5h agoA Yonkers man has been sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder of a senior citizen.
Deshawn Nunez, 24, was sentenced Thursday in Westchester County Court, according to the district attorney.
Nunez admitted to stabbing 68-year-old Renee Spencer more than a dozen times inside her Nepperhan Avenue apartment in 2022.
In a statement to the court, Spencer's family said the pain and trauma caused by Nunez left a permanent mark on them. They said they live with the emotional weight of these events every day.
