Yonkers man pleads guilty in fatal hit-and-run accident

Authorities say 78-year-old Azhar Jamil Said, of Yonkers, has struck by a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with Florida license plates while crossing Executive Boulevard at Truman Avenue.

A Yonkers man has pled guilty in fatal hit-and-run accident last June.The Westchester District Attorney's Office says Joseph Delgado, 24, pleaded Thursday to leaving the scene of a fatality.
Authorities say 78-year-old Azhar Jamil Said, of Yonkers, has struck by a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with Florida license plates while crossing Executive Boulevard at Truman Avenue.
Said later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The accident occurred on Executive Boulevard, where the victim, Delgado was apprehended at a hotel in Elmsford following the incident.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in April, during which time he faces a sentence of up to four years in prison as part of his plea agreement.
