A Westchester locksmith alleges St. Joseph’s Medical Center owes him thousands of dollars for work he completed last year.
Ralph Cardinale, the owner of Tolbin’s Locksmith, says he hasn’t been compensated for locks he installed on psychiatric ward doors last year. The work was valued at more than $14,000.
The Yonkers business owner says multiple invoices were sent at the hospital’s request, but he has yet to receive a response or payment.
“I had a great relationship with them, and I went above and beyond," says Cardinale. I don’t know what happened. Now I get the runaround."
St. Joseph's Medical Center tells News 12 in a statement, "The hospital has been in contact with the locksmith and advised him that payment was going out in the next week. There are also credits for payment made for work that was not done. It is regrettable that Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, a healthcare institution that has been serving the residents of Yonkers for more than 130 years, is receiving negative news coverage over a payment dispute with a vendor. Saint Joseph’s Medical Center has been on the front lines of battling the COVID-19 pandemic over the past several months in a neighborhood that was the hardest hit in the city."
