Restaurant Week is kicking off in Yonkers as the city steps up ways to highlight downtown dining.

Singas Famous Pizza and Grill on Dock Street is one of the 14 restaurants participating this year. The owner says the annual event helps to promote his business as one of the great dining choices that downtown Yonkers has to offer.

“It’s great. We get to bring in new customers. During Restaurant Week customers get to come and experience our food,” says owner Stainer Akahoho. “It’s a good way to bring in new customers into the restaurant.

The event runs through March 10. Many restaurants are offering special menus and reduced prices.
