The city of Yonkers honored some of its finest on Wednesday.
Police officers received awards recognizing their accomplishments and work in the community.
The ceremony was part of "Police Week" celebrations. "Today, we have an opportunity to formally recognize our officers, and we have a beautiful location in beautiful Untermeyer Park, and today we really get to say thank you on a job well done," said Police Commissioner Charles Gardner.
Yonkers Police Week concludes with a memorial Mass on Sunday at St. Eugene's Church.
