The city of Yonkers held a contest to showcase local artists for DMX Day.
Saturday would have been the hip hop legend’s 51st birthday.
DMX’s birthday was made a state holiday in April following his tragic death.
Young entertainers took center stage in the city’s “Hip-Hop History Month” contest to honor the late rap star.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano also made an appearance, paying homage to DMX.
