Hundreds of people kicked off their St. Patrick?s Day celebrations with the city?s 53rd annual parade.
The parade started at South Broadway and Radford Street. Michael Morley, the parade?s grand marshal, said everything worked out as planned. ?The weather?s super, couldn?t be better,? he said.
Irish and non-Irish locals came out to celebrate. Vendors lined the streets of the parade route selling Irish beads, hats and scarves to help make people feel like part of the culture.
First-time parade attendees and seasoned parade goers alike enjoyed the celebration. ?It?s nice because it isn?t too long and has everything in it that you would want to see for St. Patrick?s Day,? one parade attendee said.
