A Yonkers family is trying to salvage whatever belongings they can after a fire destroyed their home last night.
Firefighters arrived on the scene on Chase Avenue around 11 p.m. and found the Rodriguez family home engulfed in flames.
With smoke and flames billowing out of the roof of the home, fire officials say it took about an hour to get it under control. They say the family of five was inside the home at the time, but got out safely.
Investigators think the fire started in one of the bedrooms of the family's three school-age children. They say they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
