A Yonkers doctor pleaded guilty for prescribing more than 100,000 oxycodone pills to people who didn't legitimately need them.
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York says 65-year-old Marc Laruelle, a psychiatrist, often prescribed oxycodone with Xanax and/or Adderall - all controlled substances that are often abused and sold illegally.
According to court documents, he charged patients as much at $800 per prescription and prescribed large amounts, knowing the pills would be resold on the black market.
The U.S. Attorney's Office say Laruelle could face 20 years in prison.
He's scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 26.
