Police in Yonkers are looking for a man with a handgun reported to be seen Thursday night in the South West part of the city.

Although no one was hurt, this incident is just one of the latest in weeks of violence in the city. Early Thursday morning a 24-year-old man was shot in the shin at the Schlobohm Public Housing complex. And on June 23, Jonathan Hernandez, 29, was shot and killed in the same place.

Police say they are investigating both cases, but no arrests have been made so far.

The Gang and Violence Prevention Coalition will perform Friday at the Hawthorne Pearl school with a goal to teach children about drugs, violence, and gangs.
