A Yonkers church closed during a parish consolidation last year reopened its doors Saturday to new parishioners.
Most Holy Trinity Church at 18 Trinity Plaza will be occupied by St. Mary's Malankara Catholic Church, serving an Indian congregation. Saturday marked its inaugural service.
The church is the first Malankara Catholic church in Westchester County. For the last 17 years, the congregation had worshipped at the Salesian High School in New Rochelle.
Officials say the name Most Holy Trinity Church may change to reflect the new occupants.
