Those in attendance at Yankee Stadium Tuesday evening were the first to be subjected to new metal detectors at the venue.
Select gates are now equipped with the detectors.
The metal detectors are an extra layer of security in addition to usual bag checks.
By 2015, all 30 Major League Baseball teams are expected to have metal detectors in place at all park entrances.
