George Kohler, a 100-year-old World War II Army veteran, has been honored as the grand marshal for this year's Memorial Day Parade in Newburgh.
Kohler, a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, participated in the second wave of the Normandy invasion in 1944.
He is a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Europe-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal.
The parade is scheduled to kick off on Monday at 9:15 a.m. on Richmond Avenue.
