Bringing in food to share with classmates on a birthday has been a rite of passage for kids for years.
With the rise in food allergies, some teachers have canceled the fun food time in the name of safety.
News 12 took to the streets to ask residents if they thought teachers should be putting the brakes on birthday snacks.
