In 1969, a concert that would come to define a generation took place in the small town of Bethel, New York.
This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. And at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, musicians performed on the same fields that once hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. The center is on the National Register Historic Site of the 1969 Woodstock festival.
On Friday, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band performed. His band was joined by Woodstock alumni the Edgar Winter Band and Blood, Sweat & Tears.
Starr spoke to News 12 ahead of his performance, saying seeing young people fighting against something they don't believe in politically is similar to what he saw 50 years ago.
On Saturday, Carlos Santana, who performed at Woodstock, will take the stage along with the Doobie Brothers.
