Woodlands H.S. senior swims across Hudson River for charity
A Woodlands High School senior suited up for a 3.5 mile swim across the Hudson River Wednesday to raise money for charity.
Jennifer Reyes, 17, was inspired to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by her swim coach, who has a son with a brain tumor. He had two wishes fulfilled, so Reyes wanted to help the organization. A spokesperson for the group says donations poured in as word of Reyes?s swim spread.
Accompanied by Nyack and Piermont fire departments, Reyes started on the Rockland County side of the river and ended up in Irvington in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Her proud family was waiting for her when she finished the swim.
