The town of Woodbury has appointed a deputy town supervisor.
Last night, the Woodbury Town Board voted to appoint councilman Frank Palermo as the deputy town supervisor.
The move comes after the death of town supervisor John Burke. Burke, who had been supervisor since 2005, died last week from surgery complications.
Palermo will take on the duties of town supervisor until the election in November officially fills the position.
