Hundreds of guests gathered at the Theodore D. Young Community Center in White Plains Saturday evening in a continued celebration of Women's History Month.

The 10th annual "Dare To Be Different" gala honored women who excel in a number of professional careers as well as those who help others through their tireless work and community service.

"It is important to celebrate women, celebrate them right where they are and celebrate them for Women's History Month," said Colby Jenkins, founder of Dare To Be Different Westchester.

Guest speakers included Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who encouraged women to work together to save their communities, the country and the world. She added that, "women should always dare to be different."

The festive event also offered music, live entertainment and a fashion show featuring local models and designers.
