Stephanie Vance, wanted for murder in Mississippi, has been apprehended in Dutchess County.
Vance was taken into custody in Pleasant Valley and charged as a fugitive from justice. She is currently held at the Dutchess County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.
Last March, Vance was initially arrested in Mississippi in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend. She was released on bond in September but failed to appear after being indicted in December, leading to a warrant for her arrest.
Authorities suspect Vance had a relative in Dutchess County.
If convicted, Vance faces life in prison.
