A woman was struck and killed by a car after falling off her bicycle Friday night, police said.

Monica Deyo was crossing State Route 9 near Speedway Gas Station around 10:45 p.m. when the accident occurred.

First responders found Deyo laying on the highway with life-threatening injuries. She died at the scene.

Police say the driver was unable to avoid hitting the Deyo and stayed on the scene. The crash is under investigation.
