A woman is dead following a crash involving a state trooper on Route 6 in Chaplin, officials say.

The fatal crash happened Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.

Police say Lindsey Bidwell, 33, of Windham, was driving westbound on Route 6 when her 2017 Nissan Maxima crossed the yellow line striking a Ford F-350 Department of Emergency Services truck being driven by the trooper head on.

The trooper has been identified as Craig Brezniak.

Brezniak was brought to Windham Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Bidwell was also brought to Windham Hospital where she died of her injuries.
