A prominent Westchester businessman's wife was found dead from an apparently violent attack inside her North Salem home.
Lois Colley, an 83-year-old socialite, was found bludgeoned to death on the laundry room floor of her 300-acre estate on Titicus Road by a caretaker at around 5 p.m. Monday. She was last heard from about two hours earlier.
Colley lived on the Windswept Farm estate with her husband, businessman Eugene Colley -- who owns hundreds of McDonald's franchises across the country.
Police say that after interviewing him, he's not a suspect or a person of interest.
Police say there was no indication of forced entry. They are searching the grounds for a fire extinguisher.
Investigators say they determined that a fire extinguisher had been sprayed at the scene.
