State police say they were called to Golden Manor Motel on Albany Post Road Sunday night.

Investigators believed what started as a verbal argument resulted in a woman locking her partner out of their vehicle and taking off with her partner’s 11-month-old child.

The woman was said to have no custodial rights to the child and is not related to the infant.

State police located 27-year-old Ashley Hernandez and the child near the motel.

The child is said to be OK.

Hernandez was arrested and charged with kidnapping and endangering a child.

She was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
