WMCHealth: Two certified home health agencies based in Hudson Valley to close this summer
Westchester Medical Center Health Network says that operations of the Good Samaritan Hospital Home Care Department and Mid-Hudson Valley Division of Westchester Medical Center Certified Home Health Services will no longer be available beginning July 3.

News 12 has learned that two certified home health agencies in the Hudson Valley will be closed as of early July.
In a statement Friday, Westchester Medical Center Health Network says that operations of the Good Samaritan Hospital Home Care Department and Mid-Hudson Valley Division of Westchester Medical Center Certified Home Health Services will no longer be available beginning July 3.
It also says they will connect patients and families with other local home care options and as many colleagues as possible affected will be given job opportunities within the health network.
WMCHealth tells News 12 that its decision came because both home health agencies have experienced multimillion-dollar losses for several years and it cannot maintain operations.
A state Department of Health spokesperson tells News 12 the organization's closure plan was approved on March 14 after it cited multi-year financial challenges and operating losses.
Employees who will be losing their jobs reached out to News 12 with concerns over patients' future.
News 12 is working to find out how many people will be impacted by these closures.
News 12 also reached out to union representatives for comment but has not heard back yet.
