The coming winter storm has prompted communities throughout the Hudson Valley to postpone or cancel some weekend events.

Yorktown's polar plunge set for Saturday was postponed. The new date had not been announced as of Friday night.

Irvington Schools canceled all activities from Saturday 4 p.m. through Sunday.

Lakeland Central Schools will also close all buildings Saturday after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday.
