Heavy rains, strong winds bring flooding and closures to roadways
Heavy rains and strong winds wreaked havoc for those commuting to work or traveling for the holidays Friday.
News 12 meteorologists say the worst of the rain and stronger winds is already off to the east.
For the rest of today, expect breezy conditions with on and off rain.
With the amount of rain that has fallen so far, residents will need to watch for street and highway flooding, and should pay attention to any road closures.
Record warmth was set shortly before 5 a.m. in White Plains with highs in the low 60s. The previous record was 58 degrees in 1957.
Tonight is expected to be breezy but not as windy, with scattered showers lingering. Some fog should linger, with lows around 45 degrees.
Saturday should be mostly cloudy and windy. The temperature will be 50 degrees.
Sunshine returns Sunday through high thin clouds. The high will be 41 degrees.
