A damp and dreary day is coming our way in the Hudson Valley, where all day long we will have to deal with the showers.
Get ready to break out the umbrella when you step out the door, as showers will be coming down through the morning rush. There is a chance for a few downpours in the late morning hours as well as for the evening rush. In between is a chance for scattered showers and drizzle. Patchy fog will be an issue throughout the day.
In the higher elevations of Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan counties will be a chance for a slushy snow to freezing rain to be mixed in with the rain. A winter weather advisory is in effect for those counties starting at 5 p.m. and lasting as late as the first half of Friday.
Showers taper off early Friday, before the morning rush is underway, with drier skies to move in. The weekend is mostly dry with a shower chance Sunday morning. Temperatures will be moving up from Friday and into the weekend ahead, where 50s are in sight. By mid-week next week, we may have temps getting into the 70s!
Speaking of this weekend, we "Spring Forward" with Daylight Saving Time starting Sunday morning. At 2 a.m. Sunday, the clocks will jump forward an hour. We get an extra hour of daylight but loose an hour of sleep.

SUNDAY: DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS (clock move forward an hour at 2 a.m.) - After an early morning rain chance, sunshine will break through as temps rise. Highs: mid-50s. Lows: upper 30s to low 40s.
