A Yorktown man’s fancy gazebo purchase turned to regret following its collapse.

Arthur Tullberg told News 12 he bought a 14-foot-long, 500-pound gazebo after his first one flew away.

“I had a cheap one that was made of material and I came home one day, it was on the roof.”

Tullberg’s new hard top gazebo, made by Sojag Genova, seemed sturdy until windy conditions occurred and lightning struck it twice.

“It flipped 180 degrees and landed right on top of the roof,” says Tullberg.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the flying gazebo didn’t cause any damage.

However, removing it from the roof turned out to be a challenge due to the gazebo being tangled in electric wires. It took him a half-hour to figure out how to get it down.

It’s safe to say he finally learned his lesson, as he told News 12, “We're going to get one of those sun shades and roll it up when we're not using it.”
