Police in White Plains have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run.
A White Plains man has been charged in last Thursday's hit-and-run accident, which left one man dead and another hospitalized.
Police say 40-year-old Carlos Riera-Ortiz, of White Plains, faces two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
Ricardo Oxa-Cutipa, 44, was killed. A 37-year-old man is in serious condition.
It happened at the intersection of East Post Road and South Lexington Avenue.
Police say the car was traveling south on Lexington and the men were walking west on East Post Road when they were struck.
Police recovered the suspect's car with heavy front-end damage and no windshield.
Commissioner David Chong said solid detective work and video surveillance led them to the arrest.
