The wife of a White Plains doctor was killed in a car accident Friday night making it the second devastating tragedy to hit the family.
According to investigators, Dr. Jacob Posen was making a left turn onto Hunting Ridge Road when his car was struck by 47-year-old Sammone Roper-Johnson, of Mount Vernon. The two drivers both suffered non-life threatening injuries. Carol Posen, 57, was pronounced dead at White Plains Hospital soon after the accident. Police do not think speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The accident marks another tragedy in the life of Dr. Posen. His 20-year-old daughter was a passenger aboard Pan Am flight 103, which crashed in Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988 after it was bombed by a former Libyan intelligence agent.
