A near head-on crash on Route 129 in Yorktown left both drivers stunned on the highway Friday.
Yorktown police say it appears as if the driver of a car lost control as he was heading eastbound on Route 129 rounding a curve. Police believe the driver of a UPS truck tried to avoid the on-coming car, but the car slammed into the truck almost head-on. Investigators say wet pavement may have been a factor in the crash.
A bus driver who came upon the accident says he saw a man climb out of the car and fall onto the street. The driver stopped the bus to see if he could assist him. Both the driver of the car and the truck driver were taken to the Westchester Medical Center by ambulance. Their conditions were not immediately known.
