Westchester County is rolling out a countywide program to help residents report tips to their local police departments.
The "Tip 411" system has been used in Yonkers for the past four years and is now available throughout Westchester.
Anyone with a smartphone, tablet, computer or standard cellphone can call or text in tips about criminal activity. The Crime Tips Facebook page also accepts tips anonymously and people can upload pictures or video from a camera or cellphone.
The new program is to be used for non-emergency situations only. Anyone who witnesses a crime in progress should still call 911.
