Westchester to give people with disabilities more say in government
People with disabilities are now a step closer to having more of a say in Westchester County.
County Executive George Latimer signed legislation today to create the county's first advisory council for people with disabilities.
The group is expected to advise county leaders on issues including recommending legislation, programs and funding priorities.
Advocates say there are approximately 175,000 people with disabilities in Westchester County.
