Hudson Valley tennis fans will be able to play again starting Friday as the state begins to relax some lockdown restrictions.
Sportime Lake Isle Tennis Club, home to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, is checking courts and creating new traffic patterns with gates.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved low-risk outdoor activities like tennis to resume in New York on May 15.
The clubhouse and facilities at Lake Isle will be closed, and no congregation is allowed. Players will also be encouraged to bring their own tennis balls and water as all the water fountains near the courts will be removed.
Sportime officials say they are thrilled tennis is back, even in a limited capacity.
The Sportime Tennis Club at Harbor Island in Mamaroneck is also expected to reopen next week.
