Westchester takes center stage at 74th annual Emmy Awards

The 74th annual Emmy Awards show was held on Monday night, and Westchester took center stage with several shows receiving nominations.
A watch party was held at Yonkers Brewing to commemorate the shows that were filmed in the city.
Six shows filmed scenes in Westchester and received 70 Emmy Award nominations for their work, according to the county.
Five of them were in Yonkers.
This includes HBO's "Gilded Age," Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building," and Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
It's a huge achievement for Westchester as a whole, which has quickly grown as a filming destination and expanded its presence on the global Hollywood scene.
A lot of this success is anchored in Yonkers where leaders have worked for a decade to establish the city as a television and movie-friendly place -- including the recently opened Lionsgate Studios by the waterfront.
The film scene is only growing in Yonkers -- Great Point Studios has pledged half a billion dollars to expand its film studio campus here in the city to make it among the biggest spaces on the east coast.
The mayor says he still expects that part of the project to be completed by next fall.
The city is also aiming to open a new media arts middle and high school to help make the entertainment industry more diverse and to produce local jobs by 2024.
