Some Westchester school districts chose to welcome student back into classes amid the recent COVID-19 surge in New York.
In Greenburgh, students arrived by the busload Monday morning for the first classes of the new year. District officials say they opted for in-person learning after following guidance from Gov. Kathy Hochul.
"The schools are handling themselves very well, as far as the safety for the children and staff, so I'm comfortable with sending my kids back,” says parent Alex Militano. "I have twins, I had to send my kids to school. I think education is important. And most of all, the social ramifications we're having with kids not being in school. It's a risk, but we got to take it."
Ossining is also prepared to welcome its students back to the classroom on Tuesday.
