Department of Public Works crews around Westchester prepared Monday for the county's first proper taste of wintry weather this season.
In White Plains, the city's DPW geared up to clear 150 miles of roadways. With 8,000 tons of salt and a crew more than 125 members strong, Commissioner Rick Hope says his team is ready.
"We've been prepared since we finished leaves a month ago," Hope said. "Trucks are ready and we're ready to go."
Some snow, freezing rain and sleet are expected to arrive early Tuesday morning.
