The Westchester County Board ofLegislators worked well into the night before approving a $1.69 billion budget for next year.

The budget restores 187 jobs, protects six nature centers and keeps day care and health centers that were slated for cuts.

The vote, which was finalized at 2 a.m., was nearly unanimous totaling 16-1.

The bipartisan effort delivers a zero percent increase to the county tax levy.

County Executive Rob Astorino says he is pleased with the effort, but notes that the process is still not complete and may veto certain items in the proposal.
