Westchester County is giving away minnows.
It's an annual effort to help keep your backyard free of mosquitos.
The minnows eat mosquito larvae, keeping the population down.
Residents can get them for free at the county airport on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
People are asked to bring a bucket or pail.
To keep the minnows alive, bring them straight home and release them into a pond with at least 8 inches of water.
You don't need them if you have a backyard pond that already has fish. The county will also be giving away other tools to keep the mosquitos away.
