Westchester Executive Latimer: About 1,500 active COVID-19 cases in Westchester

Westchester County Executive George Latimer provided a coronavirus update.

Latimer said there are 1,501 active cases in the county.

A total of 33,293 tested positive in county, and 148,651 residents have been tested.

Phase 1 is underway, and there are plans to move to phase 2 on June 9. On June 23, phase three could begin.
There have been 1,357 deaths in the county. Five people died overnight. 
About 15% of the county has been tested. 
The census will be extended until the end of October. 
He reminded residents to wear masks.
Latimer says he visited Feeding Westchester, which is the source for food distribution around the county. He discussed more funding for Feeding Westchester and other local food pantries.
He discussed Gov. Cuomo's Nourish New York initiative. 
He said before the pandemic about 200,000 people needed help from Feeding Westchester. The number is now 500,000, which is almost half of the county's population.
