yesterdayWestchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah says her office will join a review of the police-involved shootings of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. and DJ Henry.
Rocah made the announcement Thursday morning alongside Kenneth Chamberlain Jr. and DJ Henry's parents.
DJ Henry was a 20-year-old student at Pace University when officers shot at his moving car in the early morning hours of Oct. 17, 2010 by a Pleasantville police officer. Henry was with his friends at a homecoming celebration when the incident occurred near Finnegan's Grill in Thornwood. The officer who fired the fatal shot was never charged.
Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., 68, was a retired U.S. Marine who suffered from mental illness. He was shot and killed in his home on Nov. 19, 2011 following a confrontation with White Plains police after they responded to an accidental medical alert.
Rocah will be assisted in the review by an independent team of pro bono attorneys, led by former federal judge John Gleeson.
Rocah says there is no set timetable for completion of the review process.
