A former Mamaroneck public library employee has admitted to stealing over $40,000 from the library, officials say.

Mary Soto, 62, pleaded guilty to grand larceny on Wednesday.

Soto admitted to stealing the money over a seven-year period.

A judge told Soto if she pays back the money, her sentence will amount to three years probation.
