It?s October and that means many Westchester residents will be getting a flu shot. For the past two years, there have been major flu shot shortages. This year, however, Westchester County Health Department officials say there should be enough of the vaccine to go around. Health officials also say it is not necessary to get a flu shot in October, since flu season does not peak in Westchester until February. Residents can actually wait until December or early January before getting the vaccine.
