With Election Day just over a month away, endorsements are being made in some key races.
Today at a Thornwood diner, GOP gubernatorial candidate and Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino endorsed fellow Republican Terrence Murphy for the state Senate.
Murphy, a Yorktown town councilman, is running against Democratic candidate Justin Wagner for the seat being vacated by Republican Greg Ball. Astorino says it's important for the GOP to regain control of the state Senate. "Certainly change begins by changing governors and that's why I'm running. But we also need to make sure we have a Senate that I can work with and a senator that is respected and is honest and has integrity."
In turn, Murphy says he and Astorino agree on many campaign points. "We see eye-to-eye on a lot of the issues with regards to repealing the common core, which will both be on the line this November."
