21ds agoWestchester officials announced on Wednesday that the county has received $1.5 million for its energy conservation efforts.
The county received a check from NuEnergen for its enrollment in three summer demand response programs. The programs offer financial incentives to facilities that reduce the need for kilowatts during times of high stress.
“Not only are we getting income, but we're saving money off the electrical bill,” Westchester County Energy Conservation and Stability Director Pete McCartt said. "It's on us in government to find ways to enhance our state sustainability efforts for the good of not just our county, but the region.”
Similar programs are already implemented in the five boroughs and New Jersey.
