Westchester Community College is hosting an in-person graduation ceremony on Thursday – the first one since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The graduates have been divided by major and separated into three different graduation ceremonies.

The ceremonies are staggered throughout the day in an effort to lessen the amount of people in one room.

While the campus is typically "mask-optional", Thursday’s graduation will require masks.

"We're looking at what would be the largest gathering of people that we will have at this point in the pandemic coming together, and we've said we're going to require for this event masks to be worn," said Director of Security, Scott Sullivan.

WCC's graduation is a ticketed event but those without a ticket can watch a live stream of the graduation from designated areas on campus and online.
