Residents, business owners and local governments are all preparing for the storm set to hit the Hudson Valley late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

For many, that means stocking up on the essentials – including new shovels, snow blowers and ice melts. Some people don't have many items on hand because of the unusually mild winters the region has faced over the last few years.
